Judi Love has revealed she once stormed into her housing office carrying tubs full of dead flies and maggots after officials refused to believe there was something rotting inside her home.
The Loose Women panellist and comedian, 46, recalled the bizarre ordeal while appearing on The Romesh Ranganathan podcast.
Judi explained that after moving into a social housing property with her children, the house quickly became overrun with flies and maggots.
She said: "There were loads of flies, it was like a horror movie.
"There were maggots on the floor and so I phones the housing to be like, 'Listen, what the hell is this?'"
Despite repeatedly contacting her housing provider, Judi claimed she was simply told she needed to clean the house.
Convinced there had to be "a dead person" because of the overwhelming smell and number of insects, she continued reporting the problem, but said workers only sprayed pesticide.
Eventually, the TV favourite decided to take matters into her own hands, she said: "I got mad right.
"I covered my head with a headscarf and a bally, put on gloves, collected all the flies and maggots and said to the kids, 'Come on!'"
Judi then marched into the housing office carrying containers filled with the dead insects.
She continued: "I burst in and said, 'Do you believe me now?'
"The woman thought I was doing witchcraft.
"They ran into the back, called security and escorted me out."
Her dramatic protest finally prompted officials to investigate properly and get to the root of the problem.

She revealed: "They started to look who lived there before and they started to worry 'is it actually their dead body?' That's how bad it was.
"Then they had to dig up all the floorboards, it was insane, they couldn't find anything.
"They had covered all the chimneys so they took that down and what they found was a dead bird. It was a massive bird."
