The champions of Love Island 2026 have tackled speculation they have already parted ways in their debut TV interview as a couple.

It's been precisely one week since ITV marked the finale of the 13th series live from the villa. This came after eight weeks featuring over 30 contestants who endured numerous dramatic plot twists and romantic entanglements.

Ultimately, Julia and Lorenzo emerged triumphant from the public vote with Jasmine and Kavan finishing as runners-up. Angelista and Simba secured third place.

All the finalists appeared to chat about their villa journey on the latest episode of This Morning. Monday's programme (August 3) was presented by comedian and Take Me Out host Paddy McGuinness alongside former Big Brother housemate Josie Gibson.

This represented the first occasion that Lorenzo and Julia have apparently addressed the public since securing their victory. Supporters have observed they are the sole finalists to have remained largely quiet on social media, reports OK!

When questioned about their experience of being crowned winners, Lorenzo said: "It's just nuts. It's the biggest compliment I think to have gone in there and been ourselves. It's just crazy it's come to an end.

"I don't think it's really sunk in. It was the best feeling ever, we've had the best time. I watched the first episode and thought it was fun."

Josie then tackled the speculation swirling online that Lorenzo and Julia had called it quits, putting the question directly to the couple about whether there was any substance to the claims. Providing a relationship update, Lorenzo revealed: "As we've left the villa we're still in the same place."

He went on: "We're exclusively dating. Honestly it's been a crazy few days and everything just needs to settle down and we're going to go on some lovely dates."

While he dismissed suggestions they are yet to declare their love for each other, unlike Jasmine and Kavan, he disclosed: "It's going that way. Feelings are developing. Everything is going in the right direction."

However, when Julia was pressed for her perspective, she sparked a reaction as she tentatively started: "Erm."

She then disclosed that the duo had spent time apart since the final night and was still waiting for their first proper date in the real world.

She challenged Lorenzo directly: "Where are the dates? When was the last time we saw each other?".

A fidgety and chuckling Lorenzo told her he was arranging an evening out at a rooftop bar, prompting Julia to swiftly query: "When? It's been five days!".

He also justified that he has spent time reconnecting with family and close mates as he hasn't seen them for 10 weeks. When questioned about their plans for the winnings, Lorenzo quipped: "We're going to have a 50,000 date."

They then disclosed that they actually plan to indulge themselves with a watch and a 'nice pair of heels' as mementos of their experience, as well as using the money to spoil friends and family.
