Married at First Sight UK star Peggy Rose has announced she's split from her TV hubby, Georges Berthonneau.

Last year, the couple went through a rocky experience on the E4 show as they tried to navigate life as a couple while figuring out if they would be the perfect fit for each other's families. But although the pair faced several ups and downs they decided to continue their journey together at the commitment ceremony.

But only three months on from the show's finale, Peggy has revealed she's parted ways from Georges, despite previously admitting that she had plans for marriage and children. She also candidly admitted that the impact of the split had affected her mental health.

"It's affected my mental health and it's taken me weeks to come to terms with it but with it being Valentine's Day, I can't pretend to be OK. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and our journey... Nobody is more upset about it than me x," she added.

Seeing her admission on her Instagram story, a fan headed over to one of her most recent posts to comment on her situation. The social media user wrote: "Aw Peggy I'm so sorry to hear of yours and Georgies break up. Sending love to you, heartbreaking for you. You're a beautiful lady and deserve the best."

Meanwhile, Georges also appeared to allude to the split with his Instagram Story as he sent love to everyone on Valentine's Day. He also encouraged single people to go to the gym and explained that "surely everyone else in the gym on Valentine's Day is going to be single. Maybe you'll find yourself someone."

But later on, Georges headed back on to social media to confirm his split and to reveal that he is also heartbroken. He wrote: "Wasn't expecting a statement from Peggy regarding this situation.

"I'm heartbroken by our breakup but also trying to come to terms with life without Peggy. I appreciate a lot of you have questions but I won't be talking about the situation as of yet. Also thank you for your messages of support."

During their series last year, Peggy received backlash regarding her treatment towards Georges as she found it hard to deal with his gaming pursuits away from the show. She also wasn't sure if Georges would fit in her current family dynamic.

At the commitment ceremony, she said: "This is by far the biggest decision of my life. My family want the best for me, and family and respect to me are everything. They want me to be happy and put myself first. As much as I wanted to trust you, trust for me is something that is earned. I may not trust easily, but I trust myself."
