A Place in the Sun's Jasmine Harman issues major health update after surgery

A Place in the Sun host Jasmine Harman received an outpouring of support from fans after giving a major health update. In a new post on her Instagram, she revealed she had had surgery and was now being forced to rest.

Posting on her account on Monday (May 25), Jasmine said that she felt like the "wind has been knocked out of her sails" after going to hospital. In the update, she uploaded a video of herself lying in bed wearing a hospital gown.

In her social message, she told her followers: "Hi folks. Monday morning, hope you're having a good start to the week. Normally, on a Monday morning, if I'm not working, I would be doing my Zumba class."

She continued, according to the Express : "Today I'm not doing it, the reason being I'm recovering from surgery. I had to have a small surgical procedure.

"Nothing serious, just a little hernia operation. But I've got a couple of weeks off work; I know I've been a bit quiet on here, that's the reason why.

"Although it's a small procedure, any kind of surgery really knocks the wind out of your sails. So I will be taking it easy and enjoying the opportunity to slow down a little bit, which doesn't happen very often. I just wanted to let you guys know."

She added in her caption: "I'm currently recovering from a small surgical procedure. Everything went really well, and it's nothing serious, but I'm under strict instructions to rest... which for me, is easier said than done."

"So for now it's comfy clothes, early nights and no Zumba! Anyone else find it hard to slow down and sit still?"

Supportive messages flooded in from fans, with one commenting: "Glad surgery went well. I have no problem sitting still, that's all I've done this Bank Holiday weekend!"

Another follower advised: "Rest up Jasmine. I am currently suffering with sciatica in my back and leg... resting is difficult. Watched A Place in the Sun earlier, lovely episode.

"Hope the recovery goes smoothly!" another fan added. While a fourth added: "Shouldn't be too bad to relax in that stunning weather, take it easy soon you'll be back at it."
