Harry Redknapp has weighed in on Britain's ongoing migrant crisis. Appearing on TalkTV on Friday (31 July), the former football manager declared that the country had been "overrun," while speaking with presenter Jeremy Kyle.

After watching footage of thousands of migrants arriving in Spain's North African encalve of Ceuta, Harry fumed: "What amazes me when I watch that footage is that they're all blokes. Are there no women?" Asked if Harry would consider leaving a wartorn country without his wife of 59 years, Sandra Redknapp, the 79-year-old replied that he would "absolutely" have taken her with him, rather than leaving her behind.

"They've got no intention of going back; they make their way here. They know this is the land of milk and honey, and we accept it all," Harry noted. "It's getting overrun, this country's overrun. I live in Bournemouth; Bournemouth town centre is absolutely gone," he remarked. Sparking agreement from Jeremy, the TV host reflected that the area had "completely changed" and had been filled with "illegal migrants up and down the street" when he last visited the region.

Harry's comments come just hours after it was revealed that around 60,000 migrants had travelled from Morocco and crossed the border into Ceuta, Spain.

Reacting to the crisis, President Pedro Snchez held an official news conference, stating, "The Government will guarantee the safety of the residents of Ceuta, intensifying the presence of the Security Forces and Corps on the city's streets.

"Additionally, we will deploy a physical containment barrier in the sea to facilitate repatriation at the border, in compliance with the Supreme Court ruling. We will expedite the repatriation files of the migrants who arrived irregularly. And we will maintain cooperation with the Moroccan authorities to continue fighting against the mafias that traffic in human beings."

Prime Minister Andy Burnham has also reacted publicly. Interviewed on Friday, the Labour leader called the situation "concerning" and confirming that the UK had offered to help Spain. French President Emmanuel Macron has also offered assistance.
