GB News was interrupted for a bombshell announcement on the late Princess Diana. Presenters Mark White and Emily Carver shared reports that Earl Charles Spencer, the brother of Princess Diana, is set to release a book featuring new revelations about his sister. Earl Spencer, 62, has agreed to write the book ahead of the 30th anniversary of his sister's death. Princess Diana was just 36 when she was killed in a car crash in Paris in 1997.

Reacting to the reports, royal correspondent Cameron Walker described it as "interesting" and "unexpected" that Earl Spencer has chosen to speak out now. Cameron remarked: "He said in a press release that he has been relentlessly asked on a number of occasions from journalists to sit down and talk about the legacy of Diana in the run up to the 30th anniversary of her death.

"What he says he's decided to do instead is write down his thoughts and his truth in a book all about her life from his perspective."

In the book, titled Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, Earl Spencer will also delve into the tragic week which followed his sister's death.

Cameron continued: "He made specific reference in his statement to the eulogy he gave at Princess Diana's funeral in early September 1997. That was the eulogy where he talks directly to William and Harry, both then very young, about the blood family of the Spencers that will protect them from the public gaze.

"A huge contrast to the Royal Family, also said Diana did not need a royal title in order to do the good work which she did throughout her life."

He acknowledged the potential impact the book could have on the Royal Family, adding: "If you go by what was said at the eulogy, this could make for pretty uncomfortable reading for the Royal Family.

"I think Charles and certainly Queen Camilla would want to have put the Diana situation to bed."

He went on to say it will be interesting to see how "uncomfortable" the book turns out to be for the royals and whether the public "actually cares or not".

Cameron explained: "There's a lot of young people who don't really have a living memory of Princess Diana, so it will be interesting to see what's in it. Could this be Spare 1.5 Harry's infamous memoir? Let's wait and see."

He added that Earl Spencer has insisted he wants the book to be a "positive reflection" of Princess Diana's life.

Cameron highlighted that anything relating to the "private conversations had with members of the Royal Family or inner workings of the Palace always sells extremely well".
