Closed-circuit television is the use of video cameras for surveillance purposes. Although usually associated with banks, airports and other 'at risk' areas, in reality the use of CCTV has become far more widespread. While it is a valuable tool in the fight against crime, many people are uncomfortable with the idea that security takes precedence over their privacy.
