One of the nation's oldest retailers, Sainsbury's was founded in London in 1869. After a downturn in the 90's during which rivals Tescos continued to grow, the chain relaunched with a new brand image in 2000 focusing on healthy living and with Jamie Oliver as the public face of the campaign.
