Cocaine and air rifle seized in police raid on Stoke-on-Trent estate

Police have seized cocaine and an air rifle after a swoop on a city estate. Families had spotted a large police presence on the Wellfield Road area of Bentilee yesterday morning.

Now Staffordshire Police has confirmed details of the warrant - that saw four men searched. In addition a 38-year-old man, of Stoke-on-Trent, has been recalled to prison.

Officers say an investigation is ongoing following the execution of the warrant. Residents say they had spotted a number of marked cars in the neighbourhood while into the morning two force vans and a car remained.

A spokeswoman said: "Officers seized cocaine and an air rifle during a warrant in Stoke-on-Trent yesterday. Officers entered a property off Dawlish Drive, Bentilee, and searched four men.

"A 38-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on recall to prison after release on licence which is revoked. Our investigation is ongoing."
