Police remain on a city street this morning - after turning up yesterday afternoon. Officers have been in Middleport since around 1pm yesterday (December 19).
This morning and a marked patrol car along with a force van have been around the Newcastle Street junction with Orme Street. One witness told StokeonTrentLive: "There were two marked police cars and two National Grid vans on the corner of Orme Street and Newcastle Street on Wednesday afternoon. Police were there since around 1pm and at 4.30pm National Grid arrived.
"Police are still there this morning and the pavement has been dug up on Newcastle Street."
We have contacted Staffordshire Police for a statement.
