'On the Qur'an I'll smash your mum's Yaris' - Mohammed's threat after dumping ex

Now Mohammed Isa has been jailed

Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

A man has been jailed for a 'campaign of abusive messages' towards his ex-partner - after dumping her. Mohammed Isa, of Wileman Street, Fenton, was with his girlfriend for around seven months after meeting online before ending the relationship in April 2025.

But the 21-year-old kept messaging his ex.

Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard that in June 2025 Isa messaged his victim saying "I don't want anything to do with you".

Prosecuting, Joshua Daley said that the defendant then proceeded to message her saying "on the Qur'an I'll smash your mum's Yaris", and later that evening she found her window being smashed and the car being damaged.

On July 10 2025, the defendent made several further threats to smash her windows again, and she blocked Isa's phone number. In reaction to this, Mr Daley added that Isa had emailed her saying "unblock me or I will kill your dad".

In January 2026, the harrassment continued and Isa was arrested before subsequently being bailed.

Mr Daley added: "Following his release from police bail on January 29, he proceeded to contact her. The complainant described herself as feeling trapped and anxious and described living in fear of the defendant for so long."

Isa pleaded guilty to putting a person in fear of violence with harrassment and four counts of criminal damage.

Stuart Muldoon, mitigating, said: "He acknowledges the harm that his actions caused to his victim in this case because time on remand has allowed him a period to reflect. He couldn't deal with the relationship ending when he was on bail. He was suffering with anxiety and depression, he exascerbated that by turning to alcohol. He should have dealt with the break up of the relationship differently. That behaviour that he has admitted will not be repeated."

Recorder Robert Smith said Isa was behind a 'campaign of abusive messages'.

He added: "You terminated the relationship and began to make vile threats towards her. You threatened to set fire to her mother's car and that car was significantly damaged 40 minutes after. Your style of communication with her was nothing short of deeply unpleasant and at times menacing. In short you made it clear that your intention was to ruin her life and reputation and you took great pleasure in doing so."

Isa has been handed a 26-month prison sentence and a 10-year restraining order.

Recorder Smith added: "I would be failing in my public duty if I didn't send you straight to prison."
