Siri on your Mac
Use Siri on your MacStudio to do everyday tasks and find information. For example, you can schedule meetings, change settings, get answers, send messages, place calls, and add items to your calendar.

Note: To use Siri, your Mac must be connected to the internet. Siri may not be available in all languages or in all areas, and features may vary by area.
Important: MacStudio doesnt have a built-in microphone, so you must connect an external microphone (sold separately) in order to use Siri with your voice. After attaching your microphone, select it in Sound settings (open System Settings, click Sound, click Input, then select your microphone). If you use StudioDisplay with your MacStudio, it has a built-in microphone that supports Siri.
Turn on Siri. Open System Settings, click Apple Intelligence & Siri
[the Apple Intelligence Siri icon] (or Siri
[the Siri icon]) in the sidebar, turn on Siri, then click Enable. You can customize other Siri settings, such as the language and voice to use and whether to show Siri in the menu bar.
Hey Siri or Siri. If your MacStudio is connected to a StudioDisplay, supported AirPods, or supported Beats headphones, you can say Hey Siri or Siri to get responses to your requests. Open System Settings, click Apple Intelligence & Siri

[the Siri icon]), click the pop-up menu next to Listen for, then choose an option. Follow the onscreen instructions to finish setting up Hey Siri or Siri.
When this option is on and you turn on Allow Siri when locked, you can also use Siri even if your Mac is locked or in sleep.
Activate Siri. There are several ways to activate Siri. Click
[the Siri icon] or
[the Siri icon] in the menu bar. You can also press and hold the Dictation/Siri key (F5) on a Magic Keyboard.

Type to Siri. If Apple Intelligence* is turned on, you can automatically type Siri requestsjust click
[the Apple Intelligence Siri icon] in the menu bar. To always type your requests to Siri instead of speaking them go to System Settings, click Accessibility, then click Siri and turn on Type to Siri.
Tip: If you have Apple Intelligence turned on, you can set up your own keyboard shortcut to type to Siri. Go to System Settings, click Apple Intelligence & Siri
[the Apple Intelligence Siri icon], click the pop-up menu next to Keyboard Shortcut, then choose an option or click Customize to create your own shortcut.
Show captions. Show what Siri says on screen. Open System Settings, click Apple Intelligence & Siri
[the Apple Intelligence Siri icon] (or Siri
[the Siri icon]), then click Siri Responses and turn on Always show Siri captions. You can also turn on Always show speech to have Siri transcribe your requests.
Change the voice. Open System Settings, click Apple Intelligence & Siri
[the Apple Intelligence Siri icon] (or Siri
[the Siri icon]), then choose an option from the Voice menu.
