Former Rangers manager Russell Martin was spotted taking a public dip in Loch Lomond to blow off steam after his sacking.

Martin was shown the door by Ibrox officials on Sunday after only 123 days at the helm following a heated fan protest. However, less than two days later, he was seen in Luss, sporting no shirt and only a pair of duck egg blue shorts for his loch swim yesterday. He was joined by his former model girlfriend Lucy Pinder, who opted for a black swimsuit.

Despite his recent dismissal, Martin seemed unfazed as he took selfies with Lucy at the same spot where he had taken his team for wild swimming just weeks before.

A surprised bystander remarked: "I couldn't believe it was him having a wee dip in Luss so soon after he was fired. He seemed quite happy, upbeat and chipper," reports the Daily Record.

"He doesn't look too despondent considering what's happened over the last few days. It was a bit of a manky afternoon. He turned up early and went for a wee walk along the village and into the shop.

"When he left he headed down to the Hot Tottie sauna and waited for his slot, which was about 1pm. It's a panoramic view you get from the wee sauna cabin.

"He was with his girlfriend and it looked like a romantic afternoon. They were sitting on the benches looking across the loch at one point. She was touching his nose and they were cuddling a lot.

"They spent about an hour there. He had a couple of dips in and out of the loch then they headed off.

"He went under the radar. I'm sure one or two people clocked him, but it's mainly tourists around there so it was probably an ideal day out for him."

Martin is thought to have started dating the model, and one of the most popular pin-up cover stars of the noughties, last year, with sources suggesting she was thrilled to be accompanying him to Scotland.

The former boss is known to follow a vegan lifestyle, with a passion for ice baths, wild swimming and meditation. Last month, it was revealed that Martin had taken his squad wild swimming at Loch Lomond as part of a team-building session, with the players taking a plunge before tackling a trek up Conic Hill.

Fans are now hoping that ex-Gers boss Steven Gerrard will return and take the vacant job. While ex-Burnley and Everton manager Sean Dyche is also heavily linked.
