A food critic was left stunned after sampling the offerings from Jeremy Clarkson's food vans. Danny Malin visited Clarkson's renowned Cotswolds establishment, The Farmer's Dog in Asthall, Oxfordshire, arriving with his portable dining setup to review the on-site vans.

After joining a considerable queue, Danny noted the vans - named The Farmer's Dough and The Farmer's Puppy - before ordering a Big View Burger, loaded fries, a farmhouse pizza, and wild garlic bread.

Recording the experience for his Danny vs Food YouTube channel, Danny was subsequently filmed enjoying his meal at his portable table. The sun beat down as he dined al fresco in what appeared to be a garden, with a pergola-like structure in the background.

Beginning with the garlic bread, he described the cheese as "absolutely gorgeous" with a "real nice thickness". The base, he observed, was "nice and soft" with a "doughy" crust, concluding it was "delicious".

Turning his attention to the farmhouse pizza, topped with the classic combination of ham and mushroom, Danny observed the dish was marginally bigger than the garlic bread, featuring a "fantastic" sauce with a "beautiful sweetness" and a "tang".

According to Danny, the cooking was spot-on, showcasing generously cut mushrooms and ham, delivering a "beautiful saltiness". He declared he couldn't "fault" the dish, commending its "great" flavour.

He proceeded to try the loaded fries, topped with garlic mayo and cheese. Danny observed there was "plenty of mayo" while praising the "delicious" cheese and "rich and creamy" mayo.

Danny, also known from his role on the channel Danny & Gary, commented: "I absolutely love this. This is like...sit out here. I imagine if I managed to get me hands on a pint of that awesome beer, I'd be living the dream."

He acknowledged, though, that the fries came at a steep 9.50, yet suggested the price was warranted given the "amazing" cheese and reasonably substantial serving of it.

Danny subsequently sampled the 14 Big View burger, which included baconnaise, lettuce, pickles, beer-soaked onions, and cheddar cheese on a "beautiful" soft bun. Upon his initial taste, he remarked that the onions delivered a pleasant "sharp flavour".

He characterised the beef patty as "juicy" and "gorgeous", noting they had "got the combination of flavours bob on". Danny further mentioned the lettuce and pickles contributed an "earthy taste". Concluding his assessment, he offered glowing feedback on the meal, disclosing his total spend was 48.50.

Danny reflected: "What a beautiful setting this is. What a beautiful place for people to come with a family. You know, you never know. You might see Jeremy walking around now and again.

"But if not, you can definitely sit down, and you can enjoy some food. I think, value for money, I think that's all right, you know. I'm not going to grumble at that because of where we are. It's a day out.

"It's an activities to come and do with your family. Some places charge a lot more for food that's a lot less quality than this. Overall, I've enjoyed everything."

He concluded by saying: "But for me, it's nothing less than a solid 10 because I've really enjoyed it."
