Questions? Answers.

What is the difference between limited warranty and AppleCare coverage?

Most Apple products come with one year of hardware coverage through the limited warranty. AppleCare plans extend that hardware coverage and provide additional features like accidental damage protection and 24/7 priority support.

What is the difference between AppleCare+ and AppleCareOne?

AppleCare+ covers a single product. With AppleCareOne, you can cover multiple Apple products in a single plan, including new devices and ones you already own, subject to eligibility rules and maybe needing diagnostic check and/or inspection.

How do I buy AppleCare?

You can start an AppleCare+ or AppleCareOne plan when buying a new product with Apple in person, online or through the AppleStore app. For 60 days after a new Apple purchase, you can get a new plan through the Settings app on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. You can also upgrade to an AppleCareOne plan if you have an active AppleCare+ plan. When you switch plans, well automatically cancel your current one and refund any amount owed. AppleCare+, AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss, and AppleCareOne products are not available in the ChannelIslands and IsleofMan.

Which Apple products are eligible to add to an AppleCareOne plan?

Any product that was recently purchased or is currently covered by AppleCare+ can be covered in your existing AppleCareOne plan. You can also add devices you already own that are in good condition (a diagnostic check and/or inspection may be required) and four years old or newer, or any headphones one year old or newer.

Can I add my familys devices to my AppleCareOne plan?

AppleCareOne plans can cover devices that are on the same Apple Account as the subscriber.

How do I add or remove devices from my AppleCareOne plan?

You can update your AppleCareOne plan in Settings > General > AppleCare & Warranty. Tap AppleCare & Warranty to add, remove or swap devices. Adjust your plan after you upgrade to the latest version of a device you already own or as needed, as long as it meets the eligibility requirements and is linked to your Apple Account. For more details, visit support.apple.com/en-gb/122224.

Which products include AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss?

Theft and loss coverage is included for iPhone, iPad and AppleWatch with both your AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss and AppleCareOne plans.

Does AppleCare cover accessories?

When you protect your iPad with an AppleCare+ or AppleCareOne plan, youll get coverage for accidental damage for one ApplePencil and one Applebranded iPad keyboard. Both plans also cover any in-box cables and power adapters that came with your covered Apple product.

How can I get my device repaired?

You can get your device repaired a few different ways. You can send it in using a prepaid postage label from Apple. Or you can bring it in to an AppleStore or any of the over 5,000 Apple Authorised Service Providers. Start a repair by visiting support.apple.com/engb/repair, downloading the AppleSupportApp or calling AppleSupport. Find your support phone number here.

How fast can I get my device repaired?

It depends on your product and the type of repair. Sameday service is available for iPhone in most major cities. For most other products, we offer Express Replacement Service, where well send you a device so you dont have to wait for a repair. For all available service options, please visit support.apple.com/engb/repair.

What do I do if my device was lost or stolen?

If your iPhone, iPad or AppleWatch is lost or stolen, you can get started on filing a claim at mysupport.apple.com/theftandloss. Your replacement will be shipped to you and cannot be picked up at a store. If you are travelling when you lose your iPhone, we can send your replacement to any of the countries where theft and loss is offered. For more details, visit support.apple.com/engb/108053.

  1. Local telephone fees may apply. Telephone numbers and hours of operation may vary and are subject to change.
  2. Coverage begins when your device ships or is picked up or on date of purchase if you have your device, and coverage can be cancelled at any time.
  3. Service coverage is available only for covered devices and their original included accessories for protection against (i) batteries that retain less than 80% of their original capacity, (ii) unlimited incidents of accidental damage, and (iii) theft and loss coverage for covered iPhones, iPads, and/or AppleWatches. If an iPad is covered in your plan, one compatible ApplePencil and one compatible Apple-branded iPad keyboard used with your iPad are also covered, except for theft and loss coverage which does not apply to ApplePencil and/or Apple-branded iPad keyboards even if lost or stolen at the same time as the covered iPad. Theft and loss coverage does not apply to AppleWatch straps unless the covered AppleWatch is lost or stolen at the same time, in which case a replacement Apple-branded strap in a style, material, and colour that is subject to Apples discretion will be supplied regardless of the strap that was lost or stolen. AppleCareOne is subject to eligibility rules; additions to plan may require inspection and a diagnostic check: Devices must be less than 4 years old and headphones must be less than 1 year old, and only devices in your Apple Account can be covered under AppleCareOne. Limit of one (1) AppleVisionPro can be covered under AppleCareOne at a time. Replacement equipment that Apple provides as part of the repair or replacement service may contain new or previously used genuine Apple parts that have been tested and pass Apple functional requirements. Each claim for accidental damage coverage and theft and loss coverage is subject to a policy excess fee plus applicable tax. For complete details, see the Terms and Conditions for AppleCareOne, AppleCare+ with Theft & Loss, or AppleCare+.
  4. Service coverage is provided under the Terms and Conditions of your AppleCare policy. Service coverage outside the country of purchase of your AppleCare policy is not guaranteed. The availability and type of repair or replacement may vary depending on your device model, applicable local laws and the capabilities of Apple Authorised Service Providers in the location where service is requested. Some service options may not be available in all areas. If service is available and repair is possible, Apple may, at its discretion, offer to repair or replace your device using locally sourced models or parts that meet local standards and regulations, which may differ from the original device in terms of colour and/or specifications. Availability of international replacement for lost or stolen devices is not guaranteed and is subject to availability and may vary by region, model and device configuration. For details, see the Terms and Conditions for AppleCareOne, AppleCare+ with Theft & Loss, or AppleCare+.
  5. For a complete list of all AppleCare excess fees and deductibles, see the AppleCare Excess Fees and Deductibles. Separate charges apply to each repair or replacement performed.
  6. Theft and loss claims are for AppleWatch, iPhone and iPad. Each claim is subject to an excess fee. While the plan is active and in effect, claim limits reset every 12 months: two claims under AppleCare+ and three claims under AppleCareOne.

Theft and loss claims are for iPhone. AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss provides coverage for up to two incidents of theft or loss every 12 months while the plan is active and in effect. Claim limits reset every 12 months. Each incident is subject to an excessfee.

Theft and loss coverage requires you to have FindMy enabled on your device at the time it is lost or stolen. FindMy should remain enabled and your device should remain associated with your Apple Account throughout the theft or loss claims process. During the theft or loss claims process, you will be asked to erase your missing device, disable it and transfer ownership before you can be issued a new device. After initiating your theft or loss claim with Apple, you will be asked to finalise your claim on AIGs website at www.aigtheftandloss.uk.

International replacement of lost or stolen devices is subject to availability and options may vary by region, device and model. Sameday replacement is not available for theft and loss claims.

ERS for Hardware Coverage for Accidental Damage to the Covered Equipment (excluding Included Accessories) is always subject to the Other Accidental Damage excess fee and not the Screen-Only or Back Glass-Only excess fees. If your device is replaced with Express Replacement Service, the original product becomes Apples property. The replacement product is your property and becomes the Covered Equipment. You are responsible for backing up all software, data and passwords residing on your original device.
  8. CeramicShield back is referred to as Back glass and CeramicShield display is referred to as Screen in the AppleCareOne, AppleCare+ with Theft & Loss and AppleCare+ terms and conditions.
