Loki, the master of mischief, is one of the strongest Strategist units in Marvel Rivals. He can summon clones of himself to distract his enemies while healing his entire team and providing support, thereby grabbing victory.

While he is nice to have as an ally, he can be problematic to control when faced as an enemy, especially if you don't know how to deal with his clones. If Loki is being a problem in your ranked games, this guide will ensure you can easily shut him down, and be prepared to tackle his trickery the next time you face him.

How To Counter Loki In Marvel Rivals

Loki primarily revolves around his ability to create illusions that can catch enemy players off-guard. Additionally, his healing is quite strong when the illusions are active, and he can also convert incoming damage into heals which adds an extra layer of protection. He can also shapeshift into one of the allies and use their abilities which can confuse enemies on the battlefield.

One of the best ways to deal with Loki is to take down his illusions as quickly as possible. This can be achieved by playing ranged heroes like Hawkeye or Hela who can destroy those Clones very easily. If the Loki player is good, they will know how to position the clones, which will make your job a little difficult. Otherwise, as soon as you see Loki on the screen, shoot him.

Loki is extremely reliant on his clones, but if you destroy all of them, he loses most of his power. This allows you to shut him down with ease.

Loki's second biggest strength is his Regeneration Domain ability, where he spawns crystals that not only heal allies but also convert incoming damage to healing. These crystals can make anybody standing under them immortal. However, you can destroy these crystals, and it's important to get rid of them as quickly as possible, especially with heroes who can deal AoE damage.

Additionally, Loki can switch his position with a clone using his Devious Exchange ability. While there is no direct way to counter this, once he uses the teleport, Loki has no other means to escape. His regenerative crystals can be destroyed and as long as you stick to him, he will die very quickly.

Loki's ultimate can be difficult to deal with since he can take the shape of an ally and mimic their abilities for a few seconds. However, he also loses out on his own kit at that time and can't heal or protect his team. While you can't directly counter him in this state, you can shut down the rest of his team, thereby putting Loki at a disadvantage.

Loki can also become invisible by using his Deception ability which allows him to run away from sticky situations. However, the invisibility breaks if he takes damage, which makes AoE heroes quite valuable. If you see Loki disappear suddenly, simply spam your AoE skills and you will end up revealing him. If he manages to escape somehow, make sure to continue destroying his clones to keep up the pressure.

Loki has a Backstab ability where he can deal extra damage when attacking from behind. Sometimes Loki players can try to use it to deal damage and then run away by switching with a clone. However, the damage isn't too great, so you can survive it unless your health is extremely low.

How To Counter Loki As A Strategist

Countering Loki as a Strategist is hard, but there are a few who have the potential to counterplay him or shut down his gameplay. Mantis is the best counter to Loki as she can destroy the latter's clones using her Basic Attack which helps shut down his kit with ease. Rocket Racoon is also a pretty decent counter as he can destroy Loki's clones which reduces the efficiency of the latter's kit.

Invisible Woman is also decent against Loki as her ultimate ability can cut off the latter's clones from the main body, thereby creating a tough situation. This is because the Clones by themselves aren't powerful as they need the main body to function. However, when cut off from the main body, Loki is forced to move inside Invisible Woman's ultimate and expose himself as otherwise, his team goes to a disadvantage.

Cloak & Dagger is a powerful choice against Loki as the former can switch to the Cloak state to drain the health of Loki's clones, which helps destroy those quickly.

How To Counter Loki As A Vanguard

There are quite a few vanguard heroes who can easily deal with Loki and completely shut him down. The first one is Hulk who can chase Loki even after he uses his teleport ability. Hulk can also destroy Loki's clones quickly, which puts the latter in a situation where he has nowhere to run. Venom can also function similarly to Hulk, where he can chase Loki infinitely and completely corner him with nowhere to run.

Peni Parker can be a decent counter to Loki as well since she can shoot down the clones from a distance.

Captain America is a decent counter to Loki, as the former can build stacks for the Sentinel Strike ability by attacking the clones, which in turn enables a Shield Throw. This Shield Throw can ricochet between clones which in turn can destroy those very quickly.

How To Counter Loki As A Duelist

When it comes to Duelists, you have multiple heroes who can easily deal with Loki. Moon Knight is probably the best hero here, as he can use Loki's clones to ricochet his attacks and thereby not only deal massive damage to Loki but also to the enemy team. Namor can use his powerful projectiles to destroy Loki's clones very quickly, thereby creating advantages for his team.

Hela and Hawkeye are amazing counters to Loki as both of them can destroy his clones very quickly. Iron Man can deal a lot of AoE damage which also helps shut down Loki's clones quickly, thereby rendering the latter powerless.

Wolverine is also very good against Loki, as the former can build up Berserker Rage by attacking the latter's clones. Winter Soldier is also a very good choice as he can use Loki's clones to reset his Kraken Impact ability, which puts the enemy team at a massive disadvantage.
