What is Salesforce Mobile App Plus?

Salesforce App Plus is comprised of three features that enhance your Salesforce mobile app experience.

Offline (NEW!): mobile offline access, a highly requested feature, is now part of Salesforce Mobile App Plus. With offline, you can access your Salesforce Mobile App even when you have poor network connectivity. While offline access does include some low-code admin data configurability, this will be a pro-code offering as customers will need to build Lightning Web Components in a statically analyzable manner.

Mobile App Management: Salesforce Mobile App Plus includes enhanced mobile security, providing companies with a native mobile application management (MAM) experience to add an additional layer of security to Salesforce mobile apps for businesses with additional security requirements.

Branding & app management: Salesforce Mobile App Plus allows customers to add their branding to the Salesforce Mobile App and publish to the Apple and Google Play Store. Salesforce ensures that apps are regularly updated with the latest Salesforce releases and compatible with the latest OS version.

Is it available on a tablet?

Salesforce Mobile App Plus is available on tablets, but only on IOS and Android. Windows and other operating systems arent supported at this time.

How does mobile offline access work?

Admins need to configure Salesforce objects, including custom objects, that are to be made available with Briefcase Builder. Next, the customer needs to build custom Lightning Web Components that are statically analyzable so that all the data needed to work offline can be pre-fetched and downloaded on a mobile device.

Is mobile offline a low-code offering?

No, while mobile offline allows admins to configure what objects are to be made available offline, this is a pro-code offering today as it requires customers to build custom Lightning Web Components. However, a low-code offering for offline will likely be available in the near future.

What features are included with mobile offline access?

  • Allow admins and users to preconfigure offline data sets and assign them to user groups
  • Allow admins to curate landing pages that are tailored to the jobs to be done by their users.
  • View, create, update, and delete records while offline
  • Perform actions and quick actions on records/objects while offline
  • Resolve conflicts when more than one person has updated a record/object
  • Use standard or custom Lightning Web Components that render regardless of network connectivity

What is the difference between Salesforce Mobile App Plus' offline capabilities vs. the offline capabilities that come with the standard Salesforce mobile app?

  • Salesforce's standard mobile apps offline capabilities are limited to a single record page which is cached offline whereas the entire page, quick actions, and navigations are made available offline in Salesforce Mobile App Plus.
  • Salesforce's standard mobile app's offline capabilities are limited to 210 records, whereas Salesforce Mobile App Plus has limits of up to 50,000 records.
  • Record edits and creation are not possible in the standard mobile app while offline, whereas Salesforce Mobile App Plus supports record creation, view, and edits.
  • Salesforce's standard mobile app is aura only and only covers certain first-party components. Salesforce Mobile App Plus is LWC only.
  • Salesforce Mobile App Plus allows standard and custom components to be made available offline.

What is enhanced mobile security?

Enhanced mobile security is one of three features that are included with Salesforce Mobile App Plus. Enhanced mobile security provides companies with a native Mobile Application Management (MAM) experience to add an additional layer of security to Salesforce mobile applications for businesses with additional security requirements.
